Introduction
An airdrop for a cryptocurrency is the act of distributing new tokens/coins by awarding them in a certain proportion to existing holders of particular blockchain currency, such as Bitcoin or Ethereum, etc. In simple terms, if you hold one type of coin, you are automatically eligible to claim other coins/tokens just because you were holding the parent coins/tokens on which airdrop is being done. This article will teach you how to participate in the Oikos airdrop which will take place from May 11–18 (00:00 EST). There is no signup before the airdrop starts. The only way to participate is to follow these instructions.
What do I need to participate?
In order to participate in the airdrop, you need a way to receive the OKS tokens. Oikos is built on Tron, therefore you will need a Tron wallet to store the tokens. A wallet is a software that securely stores the credentials needed to use a cryptocurrency: your private key and your receiving address, or public key. Modern wallets use deterministic address generation and offer a list of backup words that can be used to recover your private keys. Such a list of words is called a “mnemonic seed”. You should never reveal your mnemonic seed or your private key to anyone as this equals to giving away control of your funds. If you don’t have a Tron wallet, you will need to download one to participate in the airdrop. Please refer to Tron official website for a list of reputable options.
How to participate?
On May 11, we will publish a link to signup for the airdrop. Prior to signing up, you will need to join the Oikos telegram group and follow us on Twitter. Telegram is a secure social platform for large-scale public discussion. If you don’t already have a Telegram account, you will need to create one. You can do that once you have downloaded the Telegram app for either your phone or your desktop, which you can do here. Twitter is a popular social network, if don’t already have a Twitter account, you will need to create one. You can do this via their website or using the official application available for Android and iPhone. Please note, this step is mandatory and we will be confirming the Telegram handles of airdrop participants against the members of our Telegram group and the twitter handlers against our follower list.
To participate in the airdrop, you will need to fill the signup form on the Oikos website. Each participant will need to provide the following details:
- Email address
- TRX wallet address
- Telegram and Twitter handle (e.g. @johndoe)
How does it work?
We are giving away a total of one million OKS tokens in the airdrop. The tokens will be distributed across all airdrop participants. For example, if 10,000 people sign up, each of them would receive 200 tokens. But if only one person signed up, then that individual would receive all the tokens.
There’s no limit to the number of people who can participate in the airdrop, the purpose is to get as many people involved in Oikos as possible.
What can I do to get more tokens?
The airdrop includes a referral program. Once you signup, you will get a referral link. Share this link with your friends and encourage them to signup. For each person that you refer (up to 20 referrals per person), you will receive a 100% bonus on the standard token allocation.
For example, if Alice refers 20 people, and the standard allocation is 100 tokens, then Alice receives 2000 tokens, as 100 * 20 = 2000.
Fake users and fraud attempts will be strictly checked after the airdrop. You may end up losing your entire airdrop allocation if you are found to have engaged in any fraudulent behavior.
When will I get my tokens?
All tokens will be distributed to participants within a week of the airdrop conclusion.
