Following our initial Chainlink integration with the protocol, CAKE, DOT, and ICP Synths are now live on Oikos Exchange.
Oikos is a Binance Smart Chain (BSC) based synthetic asset platform for derivatives liquidity. The addition of new Synths to the protocol is driven by demand from the community, as well as whether the protocol’s oracle provider, Chainlink, supports the data feeds necessary for the given assets.
With the addition of these new Synths to Oikos, they can now be traded on Oikos Exchange or held in your wallet.
New Synths and the future for iSynths
In total, three new assets will be available for trading on our Exchange. Currently, all assets have both a Synth and an iSynth countepart. Synths (e.g. oBNB) provide long exposure to underlying assets, while iSynths (e.g. iBNB) provide short exposure to underlying assets. The newly launched synths won’t have their inverse asset counterpart at this time. The reason for this is the inefficiency of the currently used mechanism, which will be obviated in the future with the adoption of a novel shorting approach.
All of Oikos Synths can be exchanged for each other with zero slippage on Oikos Exchange, without liquidity limitations.
